SAVING FUNCTION: The positive relation between household saving and household disposable income. The saving function is commonly presented as the saving line or propensity-to-saving line. The slope of this line is the marginal propensity to save, which is the proportion of any additional income used for saving. The saving function and the marginal propensity to saving play key roles in the multiplier and accelerator concepts. Because consumption is the difference between disposable income and saving, the consumption function is a complementary relation to the saving function.

BLACK DISMALAPOD
Your compete MICRO*scope for today
You are the type of person who is absolutely convinced that everyone is evil, especially people who smile a great deal. Family and friends have digitally removed your image from group photos on several occasions. Today, you are likely to spend a great deal of time driving to a factory outlet seeking to buy either a large, stuffed kitty cat or a cross-cut paper shredder. Be on the lookout for letters from the Internal Revenue Service. You should consider shopping at stores or businesses beginning with the letter T, but do not buy any products with a serial number or product code containing the number 076268. Your preferred shopping venue is convenience stores. Your special symbol is the pound sign (#).
Is this You?
As a Black Dismalapod, you tend to be grumpy and gloomy, morose and melancholy, and often downcast and disgruntled. You don't really trust others and expect only the worst from them. You are seldom disappointed. You tend to spend a lot of time by yourself. Sadly, you recognize that you are destined to come up on the short end of any economic transaction.
This isn't me! What am I?

The Economics Of Dueling POLITICAL VIEWS There seems to be a disturbance on the steps of the Shady Valley City Hall. Why it's the twins, Donna and Rhonda, engaged in yet another of their long-running, and overly heated, political arguments. Donna, you see, is a devoted Democrat and Rhonda is a rigid Republican. They haven't found much to agree on since, well, come to think of it they've never agreed on anything. In their current debate, Donna is making a strident case for stricter regulation of the banking industry and Rhonda is championing the virtues of free enterprise. I had better hitch up my jogging pants and intervene before their argument comes to blows -- again. While I do, let's ponder the source of differing political views.
