SCIENCE: A discipline, or topic of study, that uses the scientific method to investigate and explain the operation of the world by testing and verifying hypothesized relationships. While the term science is often used in reference to the physical sciences, including chemistry, physics, and biology, it's also relevant to social sciences, including economics, sociology, and political science. The reason is that science is not really a subject, but a method of investigation--the scientific method. The scientific method is uses theories to derived hypotheses which are verified against real world data.

ECONOMIC RESOURCE A resource with an available quantity less than its desired use. Economic, or scarce, resources are also called factors of production and generally classified as either labor, capital, land, or entrepreneurship. Economic resources are the workers, equipment, raw materials, and organizers that are used to produce economic goods. Like the more general society-wide condition of scarcity, a given resource falls into the economic or scarce category because of it has a limited availability relative to (potentially unlimited) productive uses.

Taking A Ride On TRANSPORTATION INFRASTRUCTUREOur pedestrian excursion gives us a ground-level view of the economy, but it's certainly slow and time-consuming. If you're like me, you've probably thought once or twice about jumping into an Omni Motors XL GT 9000 sports coupe to speed us along the way. Or perhaps an Omni Airlines 30-day tourist excursion would make our trip faster and less exhausting. That's one nice thing about modern transportation, it's pretty quick and not too expensive. It also helps us get a whole lot closer to solving the unsolvable problem of scarcity. However, for a really good pedestrian view of transportation and how it helps us along, we'd better remain on foot.
